The Lisbon Volunteer Fire Department approached Manns Woodward Studios to develop a set of schematic design
documents and program analysis for a new station located on an 8 acre parcel of land in Rural Howard County. The
proposed scheme will provide the department with a 18,000 SF fi re station and an additional 12,000 SF dedicated
to social hall functions.
Firematic functions include (7) back in apparatus bays supported by spaces such as an SCBA room, decon room,
and a hose tower. The department administration and operations is supported by (5) offi ces, records storage, a
computer lab station, a day room, fi tness center, dining and a full working kitchen. A training classroom capable of
seating 30 members is located so that it can also be utilized by members of the community. 10 sleep-in dormitories
are located on the perimeter of the station and wrap the locker and shower area to allow natural light into the
rooms.
The social hall will provide space for 300 people in banquet format seating and is supported by a separate full
working commercial kitchen, separate toilet rooms and the fi re department’s auxiliary office.
