PROJECT DESCRIPTION  

The Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company is constructed on a tight, skewed, and sloping site, this “spilt level” station serves as both a community center and fully functioning department.  The upper floor of the original 11,000 SF masonry structure will be renovated to provide a community center with full commercial kitchen that is grade accessible.  The lower level of the building, which originally served as a bunk and operations area will be completely gutted and renovated, to tie into a new 17,500 SF addition.

The completed building will include a classroom capable of seating 45, two large operations offices, a large watch office / command center, a board room, a fitness center, lockers, private showers,  space for 21 bunks, a department kitchen, and a dining and day room designed to comfortably seat 18 people.  Anchoring the end of the building are 7 full size apparatus bays that will house a wide range of apparatus including a swift water rescue squad.

Sustainability Features Include:  Sensors, Day lighting, Recycled Content, Low VOC Adhesives, Premium Thermal Performance, Fine-Mist Sprinkler System, Rain Water Collection For Apparatus Fill & Washing.  Solar Hot Water.  Designed To LEED Certification Standards.
