The Jarrettsville Branch Library is a new 14,000 square foot branch facility designed to be integrated into a local community center comprised of public safety buildings, retail establishments and professional offices. The exterior design of the library compliments the existing features of the center while maintain a unique and inviting facade.
The interior design is based upon an open floor plan allowing natural light to penetrate every space while creating a dynamic atmosphere of light and shadow. The library plan features several designated spaces for all ages including children’s reading areas, secluded but visible teen room, and a cozy adult reading area complete with fireplace. Along with these features the library provides community meeting space and a drive thru book return/pick-up lane. The design team took a forward thinking approach and integrated several sustainable features including recycled materials, day lighting, solar shading, and geothermal heating/cooling
